And…Snowbird

August 10th, 2009 at 6:24 am » Comments (4)

Yes, yes, yes, I know what you’re thinking!  You are thinking that with a title like “Snowbird” we must be a little older, a little wiser, a little greyer in the hair, a little more retired (should I say a little more free time?), some grandchildren, etc.  You get the picture.
No, we are not “snowbirds” [...]

And…it’s red rock!

April 16th, 2009 at 3:26 pm » Comments (3)

Over the weekend we went to Southern Utah.  Southern Utah has such beautiful red rock.  It is a very striking place.
We love to hike, swim, golf, etc.  Anything that is fun in the sun - and yes, we do wear sunscreen.
Later on this week, I’ll post pictures from a hike we did in a place [...]

*Scoot on up to the “Wisdom & Humor” section at the top of site.  Also, “This & That” and “Home & Garden”!
I took my scouts on a field trip yesterday.  We went to Beck Leather & Craft to do a couple of crafts for their Craftsman Activity Badge.  They made foil pictures and leather slides.  On [...]

And…Christmas vacation is over….

January 5th, 2009 at 8:26 am » Comments (2)

We had a wonderful Christmas vacation.  On Christmas night we left for Palm Springs, California!  Yes, it was a balmy 74 degrees there!  One morning I called my brother back home in Utah (where the weather was a balmy freezing degrees).  I let him know that I was sitting in the shade because the sun was [...]

I hope your weekend was wonderful and your [...]

Gentlemen Broncos - The End! Part 3 of 3

April 17th, 2008 at 6:40 am » Comments (0)

The last scene that we watched be filmed was this one.  (I think I wrote that sentence with very poor grammar.)  I think this a part of a dream.  The deer have some kind of silver gun duct taped to them….We were pretty curious about the whole idea of the deer with duct taped guns…until [...]

More Gentlemen Broncos…Part 2 of 3

April 16th, 2008 at 6:18 am » Comments (0)

This was a neat scene.  It will probably be about one and a half seconds long in the movie and it took along time to film.

They filmed it and refilmed it.  It all looked the same to my untrained eye.

They truely use the clap board before each “take.”  I thought that was just in 1940’s movies for [...]

Gentlemen Broncos - They’re Filming Another Movie! Part 1 of 3

April 15th, 2008 at 6:23 am » Comments (1)

Utah is a great place to film movies…and they are filming another one.  The title is “Gentlemen Bronco.”  It is a film by the same person that made Napoleon Dynamite.  So, it should be quite a treat.  The workers on the set told us that it was a science fiction movie and they were pretty [...]

One Heck of a Guy!!

I have been on Spring Break in Palm Springs!  What fun - 90 degrees (I took pictures to post).  My sister picked us up last night and told us about this article.
Corby Campbell  is a friend of ours.  We grew up in the same neighborhood, although he is a few years older than I.  He was my [...]

One More Utah Post!

February 4th, 2008 at 9:39 pm » Comments (1)

O.K. really, what was I thinking?  Did I actually think that there would only be one weeks worth of Utah jokes running around the internet?  I just had this sent to me by a reader and I had to add one more day to my Utah week!

You Might be a Utahn if….

You keep your clothes in ‘Chester Drawers’

 You [...]
