And…Insomnia

July 8th, 2009 at 8:45 am » Comments (2)

Awake at 2:13 a.m.

Sprinklers
light wistful breeze
lists of things needing to be done skipping through my thoughts
encouraging my mind to return to sleep
shifting in the cool sheets
wondering when sleep will return
turning, tossing, turning
moving restless body part
When will sleep return?
Eyes opening slowly, closing quickly
thoughts racing through my restless head
lists of things needing to be completed
checking the time
How much time has crept by?
needing [...]

And…does your school bus stop at the train tracks?

*Scoot on up to the “Wisdom & Humor” section at the top of site.  Also “This & That” and “Home & Garden”!

Do the school buses in your community stop at every train crossing and open the door to listen for a train before preceding over the tracks?  Have you ever wondered why that is?  Well, [...]

September 15th, 2008 at 5:24 am » Comments (0)

Since I have been so somber, let’s have a little fun with “deep thoughts!”  “This truly is wisdom for the ages!”
1. Do not walk behind me, for Imay not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me alone.
2. The journey [...]

And…we have George Carlin!

July 26th, 2008 at 5:20 am » Comments (2)

Isn’t it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70’s and 80’s - could write something so very eloquent…and so very appropriate. A Message by George Carlin:
The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, [...]

This is Something to Think About!

John is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, “If I were any better, I would be twins!”

He was a natural motivator.

If an employee was having [...]

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.  We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking  space right in front of us.  My [...]
